Join us on a mission to advance medicine.University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) team at the M Health Fairview Acute Rehabilitation Center (ARC) at the University of Minnesota Medical Center-West Bank.
Practice Details:
In this full-time position, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with academic PM&R physicians and the rest of the experienced, highly specialized, rehabilitation care team - which consists of a Physician Assistant; Nurses (including Certified Rehabilitation nurses, and Nursing Assistants); Physical Therapists; Occupational Therapists; Respiratory Therapists; Speech-Language Pathologists; and medical trainees to identify, develop, and implement an appropriate plan of care that improves individual patient/family preference and enhances quality, access, and efficient outcomes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding care to patients with complex medical conditions at the ARC, a CARF-certified, inpatient acute rehabilitation unit, in which the mission is to support patients in their return to the community as freely and independently.
The PM&R team is looking for a motivated NP/PA who is driven to be a leader in the field, collaborative, and a teammate who will cross-cover as needs arise. Refined interpersonal and communication skills are required, as well as detailed written and verbal handoffs to subsequent team members.

The PA or NP is an experienced member of the health care team who uses advanced practice skill with the supervision/collaboration of licensed physicians to deliver comprehensive health care services to patients. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner engages in independent decision making about health care needs and provides health care services to adult individuals throughout their life span. Provides physical and psychological health assessments, patient education and counseling, orders and interprets diagnostic procedures, and handles acute and chronic disease conditions ensuring continuity of care for individuals in the communities served.
