Job/Internship Description
Vierbicher is a team of professional engineers, planners, community development specialists, land surveyors and GIS specialists who provide comprehensive solutions for a wide range of projects. We have openings at all our offices (Madison, Milwaukee, or Reedsburg) for InternsThis co-op position is available for the Spring/Summer Semester or the Summer/Fall Semester. Our Co-op program provides real-world experience including hands-on mentorship from our experience engineering staff. This program is designed to expand students’ knowledge and help them become a well-rounded civil engineer. Students interested in this position should have an interest in pursuing a Civil Engineering degree.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  1. Assistance with infrastructure and site design including: street plans (plan & profile, cross sections, etc.), grading and erosion control plans, storm water management facilities, sanitary sewer systems, water distribution systems and storm sewer systems
  2. Preparation of quantity take-offs and cost estimates
  3. Assistance with preparation of specifications
  4. Assistance with preparation of permit applications
  5. Learn and become familiar with applicable local, state, and federal governmental requirements, codes, industry standards, and internal procedures and policies
  6. Construction and/or storm water management inspections
  7. Assistance with land surveying and construction staking
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  2. Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other civil engineering design tools
  3. Ability to work well independently or on a team
Education and Experience:
  1. Pursuing a degree in civil engineering or related field is required
  2. Previous experience in the civil industry is preferred
