This position is responsible for ensuring prompt delivery of purchased materials by communicating with suppliers on the status of open supplier purchase orders and resolving any delays. The Expeditor will also ensure the New Product Introduction (NPI) cells are properly stocked with materials.
Maintains records of NPI materials that have been ordered and their corresponding vendor ship dates
Confirms shipping date commitments with vendors and enters all updates in the ERP system, as needed
Working with the buyers, determines which parts require expedite to meet or improve NPI production schedules and works with suppliers to achieve these schedules
Reports vendor communicated material changes/substitutions, shortages, shipping problems/issues to the NPI team
Verifies necessary materials are provided to NPI team based on team schedule requirements
Performs various internal routing, dispatching and material handling responsibilities in assisting NPI production to meet scheduled commitments
Supports the identification and resolution of chronic material shortage issues
Recommends to the Supply Chain team opportunities for improvements in processes and procedures
Requirements:
High School education or equivalent
Two years of related experience highly preferred
Maintain up-to-date training on Component Identification, Right-to-Know, Move Safe, ESD, FOD, and other applicable trainings
Computer skills needed, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to obtain a Government granted security clearance, as needed
