The Team:

The Digital Gaming team's mission is to expand Mattel's ever growing IP catalog in the digital gaming space. This includes outbound IP licensing of our brands to 3rd party game developers/publishers and partnering with other companies for co-development. The team is comprised of individuals from various backgrounds to tackle the key challenges such as marketing, business development/licensing, UX/UI and production.


The Opportunity:

The Digital Gaming team is seeking a Sr Manager Licensing [Digital Gaming] based in Los Angeles, CA who will help the team drive Mattel's gaming business forward. We need someone who is driven, smart, hard-working and willing to do whatever it takes to be successful.

This role is a great fit for anyone who loves video games, a dynamic working environment and loves working with partners. This role needs to be able to forge internal and external relationships to help expand the business.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Drive value creation through PC & Console licensing partnerships with AA/AAA game companies globally
  • Expand our IP slate into new PC & Console games with previously unreleased IP
  • Partnership management of existing PC & Console licensee partners
  • Contract negotiation for any new deals or amendments to existing deals
  • Coordination with various internal teams, including but not limited to Global Brand Team (GBT), Marketing, Legal and Finance

What We're Looking For:

  • 6-8 years in PC & Console game business development required
  • Pulse on the latest trends in video games
  • Deep knowledge & expertise of the video game landscape
  • Large breadth of contacts at various mobile game companies
  • Deep understanding of Premium + DLC and Subscription-based game services
  • Contract negotiation experience is required
  • Ability to travel and attend various trade shows/conferences

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous Licensing Experience is a plus
  • Experience in video games
  • Passion for toys, gaming, web3/NFTs, the metaverse, kids/family entertainment and/or early childhood learning & development

The annual base salary range for this position is between $114,000 and $164,000.

**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
