Job Description

We're looking for an amazing marketing professional to fill this role, which is based in our Seattle office. You'll be responsible for primarily managing the support function for media response and strategic planning in the Public Relations Department. Outstanding communication skills - written and verbal - are required to interact with senior management, other departments, outside agencies and both shoreside and shipboard colleagues. Strong ability to generate - at times on short notice - business communications, promotional messages, media statements, news releases and crisis communications messages.

Responsibilities

  • Very strong analytical skills with ability to pro-actively present and resolve complex issues and results, with minimal supervision from Director. Possess the ability to analyze media results and calculate ROI for paid, owned and earned media.
  • Independent thinker with outstanding time management skills - track record of managing multiple projects with the ability to manage priorities that change on a daily basis.
  • Availability to travel periodically - including outside of regular work hours and weekends - in order to serve as key point person for media events and host of Press FAMs. Critical thinking skills to make on-the-spot decisions when working with or hosting media or influencers.
  • Respond to time-sensitive matters including issues response to media query, incident response or in extreme cases crisis communications management.
  • Responsible for distribution of all press releases in several formats and posting in timely manner.
  • Manages press lists: compiling, vetting, and management of press lists for press release distribution and for key market events.
  • Manages the PR inbox and 800 number to provide responses, answer emails, direct incoming requests as needed, and keep up to date throughout day, week, and month. Must be able to draft responses that are strategic and on brand.
  • Lead contact and curator to cull, select, gain approval, delete, add, review and manage all other aspects of 20,000 image database and related PR photo links. This includes photos and video.
  • Coordinate and manage travel logistics for journalists on press trips.
  • Monitor media results and manage reporting on monthly basis as well as work to develop reports to reflect results in public relations. Ability to analyze trends and reflect accurate results.
  • Lead press trips as part of PR pool of escorts. Responsible to manage group of 15 people while cruising with the brand and make decisions in the field that reflect positively on the brand.
  • Initiate media story pitches and/or develop pitch plans to review with Director.
  • Write a range of materials to include media pitches, letters, interview question responses, fact sheets, and press releases in a timely manner.
  • Assists PR Director, PR Manager and Events Manager with event planning and various tasks as assigned and identified. The position is part of the team to be involved in planning and executing events and as such will have specific assignments that must be completed in timely manner and have ability to make proper judgement while on assignment.
  • The position also will be a member of the PR crisis management team on call at any hour. Typical functions will include media monitoring, media response, managing PR phones and in-box, distributing statements, distributing response to queries to internal departments, and more.
  • Provide general assistance as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Public Relations or related field
  • 3-5 years of marketing or public relations experience
  • Basic word, excel, office, software
  • Strong writing and grammar skills
  • Must be able to work independently, recognize needs, collaborate with team
  • Photo and video editing skills preferred
  • Computer skills, office 365, excel powerpoint preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Seabourn is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

  • Base Salary Range: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
