Job Description

As a Pipelayer, your primary duties include preparing, handling, and supplying materials to be used daily.

Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading equipment
  • Lift, unload, move, and set material associated with utility installation
  • General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading of material
  • Placing, pushing, pulling, shoveling concrete, dirt, or pipe bedding
  • Vibrating concrete
  • Provides work direction and guidance to laborer
  • All other duties as assigned
  • All team members are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:
    • Cooperate with others when in a team environment
    • Accept direction from supervisors
    • Follow work rules and procedures
    • Punctual and consistent attendance
    • Accept constructive feedback

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with tools and equipment, such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills and jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and compaction equipment
  • Basic survey experience, including the ability to shoot grade and calculate rise over run.
  • Understanding of installation specifications
  • Detail orientation
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to follow instructions

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Equipment certifications as required
  • A minimum of one year of related experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law

Compensation and Benefits Information

  • Compensation range: $19/hour - $32/hour, dependent on qualifications and experience
