Description

Position Goals:

Provide support and coordination of all fiduciary and adjacent tax responsibilities i.e., tax estimates, 1099s, real estate, etc. within FMPWA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support for preparation and tracking of fiduciary tax returns, information reporting related to 1099s and retirement plans, estimates, and other related tax matters.
  2. Review transactions, asset coding and accounting system postings for tax impact and to ensure accuracy.
  3. Research corporate transactions to ensure correct accounting and reporting for tax purposes and seek guidance from manager as needed.
  4. Research and ensure follow through on IRS notices.
  5. Act as the primary liaison for collection and coordination of data to external tax providers.
  6. Organize tax return process flow o ensure deadlines are met.
  7. Prepare income tax payments, estimated tax payments, and all other disbursements required to state and federal tax agencies, including tax withholding payments and reporting for retirement accounts.
  8. Manage communications between Wealth Managers and tax service providers.
  9. Track new and closed accounts.
  10. Support tracking and timely notifications related to trigger events, e.g., death, age attainment, change in marital status, etc.

Position Requirements:

Education - High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Experience - A minimum of two (2) years of fiduciary related operations or support and understanding of trust accounting systems.

Other - None.

Preferred Requirements:

College level coursework in accounting, finance, or a related business field.
