Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for working with project teams and suppliers to purchase materials, supplies, equipment and services.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  1. Develop relationships with suppliers: solicit bids, analyze quotations, and select suppliers
  2. Purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factors
  3. Create and maintain catalogs for each operating group or project that is supported
  4. Propose purchase transactions that higher authority approve prior to final action
  5. Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers
  6. Track order status from time of placing order until delivery and communicate status to project teams
  7. Enter purchase orders and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis
  8. Visit job sites or office quarterly at a minimum to develop more effective working relationships
  9. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  10. All other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  1. Knowledge of construction processes, equipment and materials, purchasing processes and procedures
  2. Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal and communication skills
  3. Strong customer service and analytical skills
  4. Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  1. Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
  2. Software experience
  3. Current driver's license
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the following with or without an accommodation; sitting, seeing, hearing, and utilization of a computer and office equipment. The working environment consists of indoor and climate-controlled settings.
