For a leading and rapidly growing Asset Management firm and in conjunction with the Investment Data Office, the Data Platform Technical Lead contributes to a long-term strategic initiative to unify and harmonize our investment data. This initiative enables enhanced investment decision making, risk management and client reporting for our multi-asset platform by delivering consistent, timely, accurate and user-friendly data to investors, risk teams and clients.

MFS Investments Data Technology team is actively searching for a Enterprise Architect to lead scrum teams to implement cloud-native investment data platform. We are looking for someone who thrives in an agile, collaborative, team-based environment, working closely with technology peers across MFS and key vendor partners. This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of investment data at MFS.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the successful design and delivery of MDM solutions. Defines the overall MDM solution, sets delivery guidelines, prepares, and reviews detailed designs for accuracy and overall compliance to the defined solution.
  • Define Master and reference data governance processes, and framework components
  • Define and document process steps, governance forums, and roles and responsibilities to effectively govern master data
  • Analyze and evaluate strategic master data technologies offered by vendors.
  • Design, develop, and support reference data platform for the Investment Data Management Office(IDMO) within MFS's technology organization.
  • Aligns technical architecture framework with requirements defined by the project, business, and technical teams
  • Provide leadership and mentorship with MDM / DQ leading practices, governance, standards, and conventions
  • Research, and recommend new and emerging MDM / DQ technologies, methodologies, and standards
  • Ensure consistency and compatibility with all other system technology components
  • Participate in all development activities, working with globally diverse, cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement solutions to meet emerging business requirements.
  • Design, prototype and code new software components of reference data platform based on vision and strategy established by investment data management leadership team.
  • Upgrade and integrate vendor products with the investment data platform to implement data engineering, data maintenance and data delivery capabilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines.
  • Minimum five - eight (5-8) years data modeling experience in an agile work-environment delivering transactional and operational, reporting/analytical (EDW/Data Lake/NoSQL) solutions.
  • Demonstrated technology and personal leadership experience in architecting, designing and successfully building highly scalable data solutions, including master data management solutions. Experience in Reltio MDM platform is preferred
  • Expert knowledge and experience in major data areas such as DataOps, data quality, data management, performance/cost optimization.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in architecting and implementing master data management solutions. Cloud MDM solution preferred.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in Cloud data services, specifically AWS and/or Azure.
  • Deep understanding of Agile SDLC, DevOps and Cloud technologies required, in addition to exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
  • Expert ability to evaluate, prototype and recommend emerging Cloud data technologies and platforms from open source or vendors.
  • Experience with leading a team of software developers including managing daily tasks, resolving blocking issues, estimating effort and capacity for the team.
  • 5+ years of data solution architecture, design, and development delivery experience. 2+ years of Cloud and Master Data Management.
  • Relevant certification in public cloud services (e.g., Azure Certified) is highly desirable.
  • Solid experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).
  • Experience with building solutions in the financial services domain with an understanding of financial instruments, transactions, and positions, is desired.
  • A strong influencer who can integrate effectively into the organization, combining facilitation skills with a results orientation to deliver excellence and execution. Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-team collaboration and partnerships across a variety of internal and external constituencies.
