The Client Services Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day customer service functions of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships customer service area. This is the first line of contact to the office and includes assisting prospective, new, and current students in all aspects of financial aid processing. This position provides convenient and thorough support and care through a variety of service channels including walk-in, phone, email, chat, and virtual meetings.The Client Services Assistant must possess an understanding of federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures in order to accurately guide students through financial aid, scholarship, and loan processes. The Client Services Assistant will apply guidelines of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to analyze and interpret student inquiries. The Client Service Assistant supports the processing unit with moderate to complex clerical and general office duties which support the building of student files.This position answers telephones, files documents, and responds to basic inquiries from the campus.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Basic Needs & Student Support within the Division of Student Affairs, the Basic Needs Administrative Support Coordinator duties will support the Department of Basic Needs & Student Support administrative functions such as financial budget accounts, department administrative support, Front desk center support, and human resources support. Duties involve the full scope of project activities including initiation, execution, coordination, implementation, and evaluation in the department. Incumbent will coordinate and operationalize the administrative support functions for the department. Incumbent is expected to use general office equipment and a full range of office support technology and systems including: one or more word processing and spreadsheet packages; use of mainframe computer and on-line systems to enter data and generate reports; maintenance of desktop databases; and use of electronic and voice mail. Some positions may require the use of desktop publishing packages with graphics capabilities.
