The Opportunity:
The Associate Director for Post Award Grant Administration (AD) is a key team leader responsible for (i) overseeing the post award and activation process for the Office of Sponsored Research Administration (OSRA), (ii) training department staff and internal stakeholders, (iii) managing assigned post award activities including establishing sponsored projects accounts to capture critical award attributes, ensure data integrity, and address the unique terms and conditions, both of the sponsor and ERAU, and (iv) promoting a positive environment and culture that fosters collaborative relationships and embraces change.
The incumbent will serve as a direct supervisor to grant administrators, ensuring that post award transactions conform with Federal and State regulations, sponsor terms and conditions, and University policies. Coordinates team assignments, evaluates workload and process, and recommends improvements to ensure all items are processed accurately and in a timely fashion. Additionally, incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and endorsing incoming awards in accordance with University and Sponsor requirements. Work in partnership to support, guide, and inform principal investigators through the post award processes. Provide reporting as needed to Director of OSRA and team. Works closely with the Associate Director of Pre- Award Grant Administration and serves as their backup.
This position requires strong prioritization and problem-solving skills as well as responding to different stakeholders' (faculty, sponsors, department administrators) priorities and concerns in a high-volume and fast-paced environment. This position serves an important leadership role as a resource and mentor for team and office members and must work collaboratively within the Office of Sponsored Research Administration as well as with other central University offices, other academic institutions, and sponsors. Candidate should have strong, demonstrated facilitation and communication skills and ability to work with individuals of all levels to develop and accomplish shared goals. Actively researches and maintains knowledge of compliance and best practices for grant administration in order to help update University policies and procedures and guard against potential audit findings.

Extensive knowledge of the theories, principles, methods, and procedures of grant administration and compliance. Extensive experience in government grants, budget management, compliance and administration. Extensive knowledge of the granting procedures, and laws applicable to the compliance and administration of government grants. Must have a strong understanding of Finance, Accounting and budget. Analytical and problem solving skills; ability to make independent decisions and/or recommend solutions. Ability to develop, analyze and review project budgets and expenditures. Able to manage a variable workload and able to meet deadlines, while providing quality service. Ability to formulate and implement operational policies and procedures effectively for contracts. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
