Job Description
Engineer II - Reliability

SUMMARY

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Reliability Engineer be a part of our maintenance and reliability team. In this role, you will provide technical assistance to the maintenance supervision in the repair and improvement of all process equipment throughout the plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and improve maintenance procedures for repair of equipment.

  • Perform equipment failure analysis (i.e. root cause analysis) to determine and correct equipment problems and prevent reoccurrence.

  • Develop and utilize metrics to identify issues, prioritize efforts to develop solutions, and justify spending on improvements.

  • Use industry accepted asset reliability methodologies to improve overall uptime of process equipment.

  • Follow equipment repair in shops to ensure timely and proper repair.

  • Actively participate in process improvement programs such as Six Sigma, etc.

  • Participates in the PACE culture of safety and demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required (PE, CMRP, API 510 certifications a plus).

  • Experience in maintenance/reliability work in the petrochemical industry.

  • Significant experience with rotating and stationary equipment

  • Knowledge of pumps, seals, shop processes, ASME code, corrosion, metallurgy, turbines, centrifugal compressors and fans, and lubrication is required

  • Familiar with OSHA's process safety management standard regarding mechanical integrity.

  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office; should also have a working knowledge of a CMMS database program.

  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability

  • Strong work planning and organizational skills required

  • Self-motivated. Able to work independently and as a team player.

  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Additionally, this position must make general decisions requiring judgement and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandates usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
