This position is for a Senior Software Design and Test Engineer with innovative mindset to work in the Production Engineering Test and Support group. The candidate will work independently and/or alongside development engineers to develop and implement comprehensive software solutions for production test fixtures. This incorporates a high level of performance verification and with built in troubleshooting diagnostics. The goal is to ultimately improve the manufacturing workflow, output and cycle time for the work centers.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, upgrade and document Production Qualification Tester Software systems that will work in conjunction with: Electrical and Mechatronic control systems, opto- electronics, and other control systems in a very dynamic environment.
  • The position requires a highly motivated, extremely organized, self-driven individual that can think outside of the box and wants to succeed.
  • Provide efficient and thorough Software support to troubleshooting multi-disciplinary test equipment (Hardware/Software/Electrical/Servo) issues.
  • The ability to thoroughly investigate and solve technical issues both analytically using design documentation and physically (hands-on) in a production environment is a must to enable PE to maintain output.
  • Ability to quickly acquire technical knowledge from documentation and from on-the-job training to diagnose and resolve issues that arise.
  • Expert in C/C++, C# and Simulink
  • Intermediate in MATLAB, Python and LabVIEW
  • Tools: Visual Studio 2017, Visual Studio Code, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Git
  • Hardware Driver Development
  • Multithreading/Multiprocessing Windows Desktop Applications (GUI and Console applications): Automation of computational tasks in factory/office, Data analysis and Data visualization, for communication and control of connected devices: Ethernet (TCP/IP), Serial (Rs-232, Rs-422, USB, etc.)
  • Software Modeling, Architecture, and Design: Program State Diagrams, Class Diagrams, Flow Charts, Timing Diagrams
  • Software reverse engineering- have the ability to analyze previously written source code, extract meaning, modify and implement changes.
  • History of collaboration on software projects with multiple engineers using Git and similar tools
  • Work with Real Time Operating Systems and Real Time Target Systems in a Host/RT control system for fast servo control of hardware
  • Capable of understanding and working with vendor supplied programming languages/command sets/development tools/etc. in order to develop and maintain the factory tooling (CMM's, Controllers and or any HW that use this specific programming language or command set)
  • Engage Development Engineering at the start of a new project design to ensure the tester designs meet all of the requirements and necessities of Production Engineering to deliver a robust product. This includes detailed design solutions that contain comprehensive production testing along with a high level of built-in diagnostics capability.
  • Ability to work with Electrical Test equipment (oscilloscope, DVM, soldering iron, digital multimeters, and electrical safety test) is a plus.
  • Support design and document reviews for new product releases
  • Spends about 25% of time in the production cleanroom providing direct support to production test engineering and troubleshooting the test stands.

Education and experience
  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Electrical Test or Product Development environment as a Software Engineer.
  • 5 years of design and development as a Software Engineer working with Servo and Mechatronic control systems.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment which produces high tech products using complex manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working with complicated multi-disciplinary (Electro-Mechanical) assemblies.
  • Design experience with integrated Hardware/Software testers.
  • Working Knowledge in image/signal /data processing algorithms.
  • Must display a solid understanding of complicated manufacturing assemblies.
