Senior Director, Billing & Collections Operation

Lead, manage and oversee all aspects of Business to Business (B2B) Billing & Collections operations and processes, including client support, process and technology optimization, team member engagement and development, and ensuring alignment of operational execution with AMN company goals and high customer satisfaction. The Senior Director will also ensure ongoing compliance of billing and collection activities with internal and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and US GAAP.

Job Tasks:

  • Lead centralized B2B Billing & Collections operations, primarily accountable for complete and accurate client billing and optimization of Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) through timely client payments, appropriate client credit levels, negotiating client payment arrangements, and minimization of customer bad debt.

  • Senior executive interface for Billing & Collections function within AMN to internal and external customers with respect to revenue cycle and cash production goals, technologies used, and underlying process flows.

  • Responsible for implementing and driving operational efficiency and effectiveness metrics of Billing & Collections team, including service levels (SLAs), collections efficiency, dispute and adjustment resolution rates, customer satisfaction, and DSO results.

  • Supervise implementation and configuration of Billing & Collections technologies to deliver resilient and reliable customer service expectations while optimizing scalability, flexibility, and production efficiency.

  • Implement communication strategies to keep internal customers, management and associate teams informed and up to date on Billing & Collections team operational strategies and initiatives, customer service requirements, and organizational objectives.

  • Partner with corporate and divisional subject matter experts to develop innovative business solutions to overcome client billing and collection challenges.

  • Positively manage Team Member engagement to achieve targeted goals and metrics. Partner with internal teams throughout AMN to achieve support for Billing & Collections team goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate process and documentation of team member training to ensure consistency of Billing & Collection customer service and productivity standards.

  • Effective communication in hiring, development, goal setting, coaching, performance management and recognition.

  • Set annual objectives for Billing & Collections team; provide mentorship and regular performance feedback; ensure training and development; address complaints and resolves problems in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Supports integration of Billing & Collections functions and processes for acquired companies, including potential modification of technology systems.

  • Manages relationship with outside vendors of Billing & Collections including negotiation of contracts and agreements.

  • Manage yearly organizational expense budget and headcount requirements. Implement leadership strategies to attain expense and headcount objectives.

Minimum Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably with relevant coursework in accounting, finance or related

Minimum Experience:

  • 5+ years' executive leadership experience being responsible for centralized Billing & Collections operations with responsibility for B2B order to cash and DSO, annual client billings and cash collections more than $5B, and open Accounts Receivable more than $750M

  • Demonstrated experience leading and implementing process improvement initiatives for large clients, key technologies, and organizational changes and acquisitions, particularly involving multiple system technology alignments

  • Demonstrated experience building highly productive relationships at all levels across revenue-generating divisions and corporate support teams within a geographically distributed public company environment, with revenues of $5B or more

  • Demonstrated Senior leadership capability over a Billing and/or Collections team of 150 team members or more

  • Shown ability to analyze process flows and implement system or manual controls sufficient to mitigate production risk or potential for material misstatement

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Office365

  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in a public company

  • Working experience with PeopleSoft ERP, Salesforce, Fieldglass, ShiftWise

Pay Rate$154,000 - $183,000 Salary

Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
