Position Summary

(ISC)2 is expanding its Global Standards and Practice team and is seeking a Director of Standards and Practice to help establish our global professional practice strategy while also operating as the lead subject matter expert for the promulgation of professional cybersecurity practice standards, establishing the (ISC)2 qualifications portfolio Body of Knowledge (BoK) strategy and advancing our alignment with global, regional and local professional practice frameworks.

Responsibilities
    Serve as the lead (ISC)2 subject matter expert to build and maintain strong relationships amongst stakeholders regarding development and promulgation of professional cybersecurity practice standards
  • Serve as the lead subject matter expert for and manage the (ISC)2 qualifications portfolio Body of Knowledge (BoK) strategy
  • Plan, implement, and maintain mapping of (ISC)2 credentialing portfolio to industry, academic and government guidelines, and frameworks
  • Ensure global alignment of (ISC)2 standards and professional practice guidance
  • Oversee and manage (ISC)2 professional cybersecurity ethical practice strategy
  • Manage BoK content development and publication
  • Track emerging interests related to cybersecurity practice, identifying risks and opportunities
  • to formulate appropriate responses to advance the best interests of (ISC)2 stakeholders and the profession
  • Represent the organization as part of professional consortia and advance its Standards and Practice goals as assigned
  • Manage stakeholder comments and feedback regarding Standards and Practice content
  • Assist in planning, preparing, managing and maintaining department's budget.
  • Represent (ISC)2 at conferences, meetings, and other events
  • Facilitate key introductions between leaders of stakeholder organizations and (ISC)2 staff
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Information Security, or related field is required.
  • 8 years of professional experience in a cybersecurity related role.
  • Familiarity with global cybersecurity public policy issues, practice standards, legal and regulatory schemes
  • Experience working within a global team (preferably a remote, distributed workforce) and managing consulting resources
  • Exceptional interpersonal, networking and stakeholder management skills with an emphasis on verbal communication and interfacing with a diverse array of people
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, including weekend work, as needed.
  • Strong computer and technical skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web applications

Preferred:

  • A CISSP is preferred for this position. If not currently held, CISSP must be obtained within the first 18 months of employment. Additional information security and assurance certifications, particularly those offered by (ISC), are desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISO / American National Standards Development Processes

Physical & Mental:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, may also include overnight and international travel
  • In-person meetings will be required
  • Work normal business hours and extended hours, when necessary, to be flexible with various time zones
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
  • Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
