Job Description

Capital Project Systems Manager

Albemarle is seeking a Capital Project Systems Manager to manage the various project management information systems required across its capital project portfolio. This role will primarily assist capital project management teams by managing and maintaining Albemarle's capital project delivery system and various capital project information systems for the global project management community. Candidate should be knowledgeable in various industry standard capital project management information systems (PMIS) to support capital projects that vary from small sustaining capital at a site to $2 billion in total installed capital (TIC) on a pace of approximately 2 Billion USD per year of overall spending. Currently, Albemarle works with internal project management resources to manage the sustaining capital and global EPC/CM firms for various concurrent mega-projects (over $500 million TIC) in China, Australia, Chile, and the US. Candidate will be responsible for recruiting and managing a team of subject matter experts and analysts who must work in a matrixed environment to assist the global capital project management community.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the global Center of Excellence for Project Management Information Systems, including providing and maintaining systems training, business process improvement, and community engagement (in coordination with the Capital Projects Training Manager)
  • Recruit and manage Subject Matter Experts and Global Business Process Owners for:
  • SAP Project Systems (PS) and Project and Portfolio Management (PPM).
  • Owner for corporate capital project Delegation of Authority matrix and related SOX controls within SAP
  • Data Retention Management (DRM) procedures, guidelines, and support for the global Capital Projects community use of SharePoint Online, Adept, Omega PIMS, Aconex, & various EPC/CM data management software.
  • Software licensing and gatekeeping management via Role Based Access Control (RBAC) efforts for all Capital Project related software creating design, process simulation, and project management deliverables
  • Data warehouse construction and updating in support of project controls reporting
  • Collaborate with other process owners and workstreams to ensure alignment on corporate strategy and goals.
  • Coordinate support of Shared Service Center teams in Budapest, Hungary and Dalian, Chinato support capital project systems and processes

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in PMIS management
  • Previous management experience within an Owner's organization is required.

Skills Required

  • Knowledge/Skills: Expertise in project management is a must. Must be self-motivated and possess good organizational skills. Must be able to work as part of a team. Must pay close attention to details, follow high standards for accuracy and completeness and accept constructive criticism from coworkers.
  • Computer Proficiencies: Detailed knowledge in SharePoint and SAP project systems is necessary. General skills in MS PowerPoint, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications are required. Familiarity with Primavera P6, AutoCAD, Bentley, & Power BI software access for licensing and support.
  • Document Management: Experience with Adept, Aconex, Omega PIMS, Sharepoint Online, Microsoft Teams and/or other document management and collaboration tools is required
  • Communication Skills: Must have analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, or related field.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
  • Master's Degree in related field is a plus.
  • Project Controls Experience, such as Project Controls Management, Project Scheduling, or Project Risk Management, is a plus
