The Opportunity

The Broadband Analog (BBA) and Optical IC group at Marvell designs and develops cutting edge Transimpedance Amplifiers, Electro-Optic Modulator Drivers and highly integrated Silicon Photonics solutions for optical communication modules. As a member of a dynamic Test Engineering team, the candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the test hardware solution, software development, and hands-on measurement of electrical and photonic integrated circuits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support development of test engineering solutions across all phases of NPI: new silicon bring-up, product sampling, qualification, characterization and high-volume manufacturing at OSATs. Ownership over all aspects of the test solution including software, tester equipment, PCBs, mechanical fixturing, probe hardware and sockets.
  • In partnership with Product Engineering, create test plans from product requirement definitions, drive test time reduction and yield improvements to meet manufacturing targets.
  • Work with Design and Product Engineering to guarantee product quality through test coverage at wafer-probe and package levels. Analyze test data and present conclusions to both management and cross functional teams.
  • Work with Operations and Planning to drive test station availability and capacity to support on-time delivery according to the production backlog.
  • Provide necessary test engineering support for all customer returns working laterally with Quality engineering in a timely manner.
  • Support subcon partners to drive NPI test development with the global OSAT team.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relatedfield with coursework in RFIC/MMIC Design, Microwave or Optical Engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years previous experience in software automation for semiconductor test using bench instruments (GPIB/Ethernet) and PXI instrumentation. Familiarity in one or more of the following languages: Python, VB.NET or Labview is required.
  • Previous experience withRF/Mixed-Signal IC manufacturing; specificallyin test engineering with focus on hardware and software design, yield improvement, test time reduction and manufacturing process improvements, is a requirement.
  • Familiaritywith test bench equipment, including, but not limited to, Network Analyzers, Sampling Oscilloscopes, SMUs, Lasers and Optical Power Meters, isrequired.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Hands-on wafer sort and IC handler experience strongly desired.
  • Understanding of broadband high-speed TIA's and Drivers and their test and characterization using microwave test equipment a plus.
  • Understanding of Photonic Integrated circuits and their test and characterization using optical test equipment a plus.
  • Solid understanding of electromagnetics, microwave electronics, analog RFIC/MMIC design and fabrication, and/or optical devices.
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, and 2D/3D CAD software is a plus.
