Compensation: $52,000 annually
Worksite Location: South Campus & Clinical Sites

Overview / Job Summary:
This position is a Full-time Exempt level position, as defined by policy to mean working a minimum of 40 hours per week. The primary responsibility of an instructor is to provide the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The instructor is responsible for performing the duties in the assigned instructional modality (hybrid, online or face to face) during the day, evening, or weekend on any WSU Tech) campus/off-campus/on-line location. At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic planning, serving on various committees, recruiting, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations as needed. An instructor performs all duties as directed by the Program Director, Associate Dean, Dean, Academic Vice President, or the President.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
 
  • Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.
  • Maintains accurate and complete scholastic records, including but not limited to course messaging in the LMS, grades, census rosters and attendance records.
  • Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum and changes, as needed, which meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.
  • Fully participates in, utilizes, and submits when due program review information, assessment data, and course/college evaluations.
  • Develops, and maintains a positive relationship with program Industry Advocate Teams (IAT) members.  Recruits new members to serve on IAT committees.
The instructor's role encompasses various responsibilities, including assessing student progress in achieving course outcomes, holding regular office hours for student consultation, and overseeing classroom and laboratory activities to ensure a safe learning environment. Furthermore, the instructor is responsible for aligning programs and classes with WSU Tech Course Standards, using effective teaching methods, and adhering to approved course syllabi.

Education:
  • RN’s must have Associates/Advanced degree, required OR LPN’s must have Technical Cert, required.
Required/Preferred Experience & Skills:
  • Minimum two years clinical experience, required.
    • LPN must have one-year LTC, required.
    • RN one-year LTC, preferred
  • Has and maintains a current Kansas nursing license LPN/RN, required.
  • Current American Heart Association or RedCross CPR certification and maintained, required.
  • Yearly TB test and other immunizations or physical examinations as required by clinical sites, obtained at own expense.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred, with pre-planning course work.
Additional Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills where you can work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn & use personal computer and various software programs utilized daily in a teaching environment, strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Comfortable with course delivery method being hybrid as needed.
