We are looking for a Director of Engineering to guide the secure delivery of the 1upHealth FHIR Interoperability platform. You will be an important member of an experienced team that is using the latest cloud-based technologies to improve the ability to securely create, access, and share patient EHR/EMR data.
As Director of Engineering, Platform reporting to the VP Engineering, you will lead 1upHealth teams to develop, scale, and secure the 1upHealth FHIR platform architecture, API, microservices, and AWS-based infrastructure. In collaboration with other engineering leaders, you will use a metrics-based approach to ensure the integrity of the secure SDLC and availability of all platform services.
You will:
- Attract, inspire, and retain engineers, architects, and managers.
- Partner with teams across the organization to deliver roadmaps with predictability.
- Direct technical implementation and delivery of the AWS-based 1upHealth FHIR Interoperability platform API, microservices, and technology.
- Ensure the security of our customers' data using secure development practices that align with industry best practices.
- Work across the organization to improve the 1upHealth platform for scalability while reducing its overall cost of operation.
- Deliver software products using Agile SCRUM methods and foster a metrics-based DevSecOps software development culture.
We are looking for people who have:
- Success leading the development of commercial API-first products and services in a public cloud provider (we use AWS).
- Collaborate with engineers to determine architectural trade-offs and technology selections.
- Hands-on experience as a software developer and technical leader.
- Experience directing metrics-based secure software development. Must have a working knowledge of industry standard data security best practices.
- Directed and mentored teams in a growth environment.
- Experience with scalable API software architectures, Big Data management techniques, networking, and AWS-based technologies; experience with serverless or container-based architectures.
You may also have:
- Experience building health technology-based products and services based on current HL7v2 and FHIR standards.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Management or a related field.
