The Big Picture:

Mortenson is looking for a Manager of Compensation to join the Human Resources team. The Manager of Compensation will lead a team of compensation professionals to design, deliver and communicate compensation programs, including base pay and variable pay, to ensure programs are equitable, efficient, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. Provide market-based competitive intelligence and insights for attracting, retaining, and motivating team members. Effectively collaborate and partner with HR leaders, business leaders at all levels of the organization and external vendors to provide pay solutions to achieve overarching organization goals.

What will you be doing?

  • Build, communicate and maintain competitive and equitable compensation programs that facilitate engagement and retention and are aligned with the company's long-term strategies
  • Manage effective guidance and consultation to HR Business Partners and Business Leaders on job architecture, pay recommendations and incentive programs
  • Ensure compensation programs are developed and administered in accordance with all relevant regulations
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Human Resources, or related field required. Masters' Degree preferred
  • Minimum years 7 years of compensation, financial analysis, or HR analytics experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership role preferred
  • Experience designing and implementing compensation programs
  • Expert-level usage of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Experience building and delivering compensation-related training to leaders is preferred
  • CCP, GRP and/or other recognized professional certification(s) preferred
  • Experience working in privately held companies desired
