Vice President, Portfolio Manager III - Gaming

What you'll do:

As a Vice President, Portfolio Manager for the Gaming Team you'll supports the Bank's annual growth and customer retention targets by helping the sales teams with credit underwriting, product selection, portfolio maintenance, and general customer service for our gaming clients. You'll be responsible for tasks related to underwriting and portfolio management, regularly providing insights to leaders about the portfolio's performance and trends. Western Alliance uses a team-based approached to portfolio management and so you'll work with a team that includes commercial bankers, business development officers, and credit analysts and partners from credit administration, loan administration, and credit risk review. While you will be primarily focused on Portfolio Management, you'll begin to assume responsibility for some business development as you work towards becoming a Commercial Lender, or you'll continue to deepen the credit savviness needed for credit policy and decisioning roles in Credit Administration.

What we are looking for:

Job Description

  • Prepares loan presentations, rating reviews, credit applications, financial analysis, extension of credit limits, action plans, provisional risk scoring and usual portfolio management requirements. Appropriate identification of risks issues, close monitoring of and reporting on the status of the borrower and underlying project conditions, including escalating to appropriate departments where appropriate.
  • Performs a variety of general portfolio management activities, including credit concentration reviews and portfolio optimization, critical analysis of trends and factors impacting various client projects. Performs analysis related to under-performing assets and recommends mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinates processing of approved loans; ensures loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; obtains sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solves problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within the portfolio. Supports projects related to maintaining and improving internal credit and loan administration policies and procedures.
  • May lead and develop less experienced team members.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and eight (8) years of direct related experience which includes Portfolio Management, Credit Administration, Lending/Deposit Sales or other applicable financial institutional knowledge
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, pricing dynamics. Credit analyst training completed.
  • Strong written and verbal
