What you will be responsible for:The Training Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, administering and evaluating learning events on behalf of MFS Service Center (MFSC). Programs include training on job specific skills, products, regulatory requirements, procedures, customer service, desktop roll-outs and enhancements, taxes and other network solutions. Delivery is a combination of job aids, instructor-led, and online approaches to learning for employees at all levels of the organization. This is accomplished by partnering with business areas to identify requirements, propose training, develop and carry out agreed upon solutions. The Training Specialist interacts with all areas of MFSC, as well as, Corporate Learning & Development and Compliance Training to ensure consistency in products, coordination with shared technologies and appropriate training room functionality.
Principal Responsibilities
- Promote a learning environment where employees are encouraged to participate and practice new skills and behaviors
- Continue to facilitate programs and individual courses on a recurring basis after initial implementation to meet ongoing needs of new and existing employees
- Represent group on cross-departmental projects to assess and carry out potential training needs
- Perform maintenance to existing training documentation in response to procedure and policy changes and as needed
- Evaluate participant performance and provide recommendations and feedback to employees and Managers as appropriate, while monitoring the effectiveness of programs
- Oversee own classroom activities, resolve in-class issues that arise and involve Management as appropriate
- Perform administrative responsibilities such as scheduling training, compiling class materials, assigning classes, tracking course completions and reporting training metrics
- Develop and deliver retail, retirement plan, tax programs and specialized TA workshops and individualized programs to meet training needs of new and existing employees
- Translate process, procedure and regulatory changes, as well as, quality and service trends into applicable training, including existing and new material
- Evaluate and monitor effectiveness of training programs; propose and implement revisions as necessary
- Perform additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred along with minimum of two years' mutual fund experience and/or previous experience developing and delivering required training
- DST system knowledge preferred, knowledge of MFS products and policies, as well as, MFS operating systems preferred
- Advanced Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong organizational, analytical and multi-tasking capabilities
- Ability to work well with personnel at diverse organizational levels
- Ability to work effectively with minimal direction
