Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) (Remote)

As a growing company, we are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our growing team that reports to our Director of Cloud Operations. You will use your expertise to gather requirements, capture them in a compliance database and then implement testing through automation, across the whole suite of company products. You will be an important member of an amazing team, that is using modern web and data technologies to develop the FHIR API standard to access patient electronic health record data, for the digital healthcare industry.
You will:
    • Be a foundational member of the SQA team focused on holistic testing
    • Communicate with non-engineering Product Owners to gather requirements
    • Ensure requirements are complete, testable and documented
    • Develop a testing and automation approach across our products
    • Be an objective assessor of quality, who uses test results data as evidence
    • Create and document detailed automated test plans
    • Develop functional integration and performance tests ensuring end-to-end coverage
    • Identify and integrate new testing technologies into our services
    • Triage bugs with software teams, to promote best practices during their SDLC
    • Partner with our DevOps team to integrate Test as Code into continuous pipelines
    • Work with our Security team to integrate compliance in our products and deliveries
    • Expand your skills by learning about the FHIR standard which is an industry-leading, open-source, medical platform for accessing petabytes of data
We are looking for people who have:
    • 5+ years testing and deploying commercial web applications
    • 5+ years automating feature, regression, and performance testing
    • Worked with both operations and data, at scale
    • Experience with software QA methodologies and strategies
    • Ability to develop automated API and UI tests
    • An understanding of software internals and debugging code
    • Previously created and maintained Engineering-wide tools and frameworks
    • Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure: AWS, Azure, or GCP
    • Proficiency in your favorite programming language
    • Desire to have fun and have an impact
You may also have
    • Familiarity with object-oriented principles
    • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies
    • Familiarity with software security testing techniques
    • Knowledge of DevOps practices using CI/CD code pipelines
    • Experience with Docker
    • Knowledge of digital healthcare technologies and data standards such as HL7 FHIR
