Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Medical Scheduler that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Builds and maintains all scheduling templates (Medical Providers, All Specialists, P.T./O.T., Women’s Wellness Department, and Specialty Clinics such as Spirometry and Coumadin Clinic), in Intergy.
  2. Maintains and oversees provider clinic schedules, working closely with each medical departmental representative.  Includes the monitoring of meeting provider minimum requirements as outlined in SSCHC policies.
  3. Schedules appropriate medical provider coverage for all Saturday clinics.
  4. Maintains the call schedule for medical providers.
  5. Combines each medical department schedule (clinic, call, and rounding) into a cohesive document.  Maintains that schedule and communicates that information to all necessary parties.
  6. Assists each medical departmental representative with the design of the hospital rounding schedules and maintains them in Intergy.
  7. Works closely with the Nursing Department to make sure the provider and nursing schedules are coordinated.
  8. Calculates the monthly productivity data needed for provider productivity reports.
  9. Troubleshoots any issues that arise with the scheduling process.
  10. Works to refine / improve the scheduling process.
  11. Process and update provider schedules and templates based upon approved requests submitted from the groups outlined in #1 above.  Coordinates and communicates such updates to the appropriate parties.
  12. Keeps track of medical provider absences.
  13. Completes medical timesheets bi-weekly.  Includes tracking provider time that is allocated to various grants.
  14. Manages provider line for absence notifications and same day clinic schedule changes.  Communicates those changes to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  1. Knowledge of and skill in using computer software with emphasis on Microsoft Office applications in a Windows environment.
  2. Knowledge of and experience in working with an Electronic Health Record preferred.
  3. Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology preferred but not required.
  4. Skill in operating office equipment such as copier, document shredder, and facsimile.
  5. Ability to communicate with employees, physicians/mid-level practitioners, the public, and management in a courteous and professional manner.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  7. Ability to process assigned duties and work independently in an efficient and organized manner.
  8. Ability to work on a team which includes helping where needed as well as performing expected responsibilities efficiently.
  9. Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail.
  10. Must have the ability to effectively work in a multi-task environment.
  11. Ability to identify, research and resolve problems and discrepancies.
  12. Ability to maintain patience and composure in difficult situations.
  13. Ability to work extra hours and put forth extra effort when needed.
