Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Development Director that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual. 

Summary of Duties: 


For more than 50 years, Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers has provided medical, behavioral, and environmental health services to the underserved communities on the south side of Milwaukee and in Waukesha. Our mission is to improve health and well-being by providing quality, patient-centered, family-based health care, health education and social services, free from linguistic, cultural, and economic barriers.
           
A strategic and creative thinker, the Development Director will help develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to increase individual, foundation and corporate giving as well as event and grant funding.


Responsibilities: 
  1. Prepare narratives for touch points and impact reports.
  2. Develop and implement a plan to effectively cultivate and solicit corporations, individuals, organizations, and foundations.
  3. Evaluate fundraising campaigns and analyze activities for overall effectiveness.
  4. Draft and lead creation of donor communications to Major and Planned Gift Donors.
  5. Work with members of the staff and board to identify and pursue funding sources and prospects.
  6. Meet with and develop donor relationships using prospect research tools and the database.
  7. Coordinate donor meetings for VP of Advancement and prepare necessary presentation materials.
  8. Manage donor database; ensure accuracy of gift entry and reporting.
  9. Collaborate with other agencies about fund raising activities.

Qualifications: 
  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred but will consider individual with 3-5 years development experience.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of fund development experience with proven success in all facets of annual giving.
  3. Outstanding written communication skills and experience in donor cultivation.
  4. Effective interpersonal communication skills and experience in meeting with top administrators, executives, and community leaders.
  5. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, problem solving, managing people and budgets.
  6. Ability to work on selected weeknights and weekends as required.
  7. Ability to appropriately handle confidential matters and information.
  8. Experience with fundraising and data management systems; Donor Perfect is highly desirable.
  9. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  10. Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks while working as part of a team.
  11. Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
