What to ExpectTesla has an outstanding opportunity available for a EMS/FRT Manager
to join the team at our Bay Area locations. The EMS/FRT Manager is expected to safely minimize losses associated with medical/fire response operations, coordinate fluid care with Tesla On-Site Medical and coordinate life safety training/Fire response across the bay. The EMS/FRT manager has the responsibility for motivating, leading, managing and promoting the development, mentoring, and training of EMS/FRT response members. The EMS/FRT Manager is also responsible for prioritizing and completing tasks associated with non-emergency response activities such as emergency prevention, disaster planning, safety education, ICS programs/policies and on-shift training activities. The Manager will be responsible for managing all Bay Area sites and staffing for the EMS/FRT Response Team. Being able to travel to all sites as needed for continuing management, training, response planning, mitigate concerns, delegation, prevention inspections and anything aligning with fire/medical/incident-event response. This EMS/FRT group will also be fully responsible for transport and escort of all medical and/or incident-event/courtesy response. This position will be the managerial liaison for all fire/medical/EMS/response related questions, concerns, and staffing. This position directly reports to Medical Operations.
What You'll Do
- Bay Area incident/fire
prevention, response, and detection program technical and compliance

assessments Works directly with Tesla Medical oversight to align on
response/medical/fire standards of care.
- After-action verification and
compliance assurance (Documentation/QI-QA) Partner with subject matter
experts within the infrastructure and production teams to review new
system designs and life safety safeguards for response.
- Medical and Fire. Accountable
for any/all emergency preparedness procedure implementation.
- Fire & Medical
collaboration and streamlining response processes within both teams.
- Project managing emergency response
readiness based on Emergency Action and Response Plan procedures for both
Medical and Fire.
- Partner with responsible,
accountable, consulted & informed (RACI) stakeholders from across the
Bay Area site to establish an Emergency Response Leader Team structure for
various emergency events.
- Medical & Fire response
agencies from both counties.
- Regularly report to Sr. Site
and EHS&S leadership on emergency readiness, needs, and
after-action-review statuses as needed.
- Available to all leadership
with event action response and support; Fire & Medical.
- Ensure resources/supply are
available for all emergency/fire response needs. Facilitate drills, table
top exercises, learning events, and after action reviews following actual
emergency events.
- Be a motivator across both
response teams.
- Facilitate continuous
improvement initiatives that enhance emergency/fire preparedness,
awareness, and response onsite.
- Regularly solicit stakeholder
feedback to measure success and areas of needed improvement.
- Develop, deliver, and
facilitate emergency/fire response training for leaders (more so for the
Mid and Sr. Leaders).
- Direct supervisory/site
training on incident swim lanes.
- Attend training sessions (and
host) as required by Tesla, read and understand assigned materials related
to emergency fire & medical care, firefighting and fire prevention.
- The EMT/FRT Manager's primary
responsibility will be to manage the EMT & FRT team but also should be
able to jump in as a responder when staffing dictates the need on either
team.
- Performs general inspection,
testing, and maintenance on life safety and emergency/fire response
equipment.
- Delegate's inspections based on
location and staffing.
- Accurately maintain and
complete all required documentation for all bay area sites.
- Ensure responding medical/fire
personnel are appropriately dressed, adequately trained, and properly
briefed to ensure the rapid, efficient, and effective mitigation of
incidents at all bay area sites.
- Directs and participates in
medical/fire equipment selection and purchase orders.
- Provide training to team
members, new hires or Tesla employees at all bay area sites.
- Studies the location of
building layout, fire hydrants, sprinkler systems, alarm systems and Knox
boxes at all bay area sites.
- Combines actions for
emergency/fire site training and collaboration on disaster drills. Medical
& Fire.
What You'll Bring
- Must be at least 18 years old
and have High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current EMT-P required.
- Hazardous Materials Operations
level with decon preferred.
- Must be comfortable in confined
spaces and wearing a SCBA.
- 5+ years' experience as a first
responder Paramedic
- 5+ years' experience as
supervisor or manager for first responders either as an EMT or Paramedic
- 5+ years' experience as
supervisor or manager for fire responders either as a Firefighter
I/II/III/IV
- Ability to utilize emergency
medical-fire equipment in a proficient manner, communicate concisely,
clearly, and effectively in both written and verbal form.

Expected Compensation
$67,200 - $266,400/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
