The Market Research Analyst serves an integral role in the Marketing organization by gathering and maintaining data from multiple sources. This individual will provide data and information that will focus on the needs of the financial professional, the end customer, the company's capabilities, the product segment's context, distribution channels and the competition. The research supports marketing campaigns, product positioning and the Protection Division's strategic vision.
Responsibilities
    • Analyzes various reports that supports the Protection Division's business initiatives
    • Monitors trends relevant to the financial services industry, including by not limited to: consumer behaviors, regulations, public policy, technology advancements and the economic environment to identify areas of risk or opportunity
    • Partners with Marketing team members to support Protection Division initiatives through special project work, creation of comparison tools and reports to highlight competitive position
    • Supports primary and secondary research, and development efforts through in depth research, product modeling and concept testing
    • Collaborates with Marketing Strategy team to translate competitive positioning information into relevant and effective educational and promotional communications
    • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Education
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in the life insurance, annuity or financial services industry
    • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degrees and industry designations or licenses, a plus
    • Exhibits natural curiosity and desire to constantly learn and acquire more information
    • Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets and investment principles
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency required, database skills a plus
    • Strong math skills and a knowledge of statistical concepts is required
    • Demonstrated ability to identify key insights by connecting disparate information sources
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment by working under pressure and meeting deadlines
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills
    • Ability to interactive effectively and sensitively with a wide variety of personalities and positions.
    • Must be able to manage multiple tasks with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Ability to resolve problems and apply best solution
    • Pro-active approach to job challenges
    • Strong ability to organize and maintain large amounts of data and information
