Job Description
Production Lead
Coordinating with Supervisors, quality assurance, maintenance techs and employees to meet the daily production target in most efficient way.  Follow and enforce all company policies, including GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and safety policies.
Summary of essential job functions
  • Monitor the production of products and employees in area of production assigned to. 
  • Instruct, train and delegate to operators and employees that equipment and materials are set up properly.
  • Communicate all production related issues a to supervisor, quality assurance and maintenance and work with all departments to resolve issue. 
  • Constantly inspect all production lines to ensure product meets specifications.
  • Complete all necessary company paperwork as required and ensure all production related paperwork is completed while production is running accurately.   Double check all lot codes and packing materials for accuracy and initial packing check offs.
  • Reprimand employees as necessary and correct actions.  Notify supervisor if employees are not cooperating.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly production floor and work area.  Assist with house keeping.
  • Train and enforce all production procedures and GMP’s.
  • Ensure all metal detection systems are working properly and paperwork is completed on time and accurately.

Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to communicate in English – written and oral.
  • Good Math Skills.
  • Ability to lead and train people.
  • Prior production experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Abilities required
  • To lift or move objects up to 80 pounds including bags of ingredients, parts, tools, boxes of finished product, etc.
  • To move through the different work areas including climbing on ramps or step stools, walking in product freezer.
  • To visually inspect products and identify defects.
  • To work with hoses for hot water, regular or high pressure water, cleaning chemicals, brushes and squeegees for cleaning purposes.
  • To work with some tools including pipe wrench, pliers, weighing equipment, calculator, stop-watch, radio, tape-machine, code-dater, ect.
  • To fill out production and attendance records.
  • To drive a forklift and a pallet jack in a safe manner.
  • To work in a hot environment.
  • To read and understand the manufacturing guidelines of different products.
