The Role

DOM's Kitchen & Market Accounting Intern is a motivated, detail-oriented team member who can help our ever-growing organization and position DOM's Kitchen & Market for success! You possess a passion for accounting and are committed to supporting an integral part of the team with financial reporting, operational analysis, and processing of account information. As DOM's Kitchen & Market's Accounting Intern, you will be a part of DOM's Kitchen & Market dynamic group of Team Members dedicated to delivering Talk of the Town service to our organization.

Responsibilities

Dom's Kitchen & Market Accounting Intern, will act as an accounting expert, analytical process point person, and organized reconciler. This role helps formulate financial tactics and strategies and will assist in continuously developing strong best practices to lead accounting functions cross-functionally.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Accurately complete select weekly and monthly close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Reconcile key accounts
• Create financial statements for internal/external stakeholders
• Develop / update financial and operational insights analysis
• Key metrics - charts and graphs
• Build / update financial models
• Ensure accounting controls are designed and followed
• Process select invoices for payment (indirect procurement)
• Support the annual audit / review processes
• Reconcile Invoices to receiving reports and purchase orders
• Create vendor chargebacks and remittance advices
• Reconcile vender statements
• Organize and enter journal entries and account reconciliations
• Run daily, weekly and monthly interface routines

Qualifications

• Must be at lease at the Junior level in an accounting degree program. CPA candidates preferred.
• Basic understanding of the concepts, practices, policies and procedures across accounting transaction processes.
• Appetite for learning simple accounting systems (Quick Books, Bill.com)
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Excel with ability to create and analyze data using Excel functionality (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUP's)
• Time management to meet strict deadlines
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  
  

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
• This position will also have frequent site visits to our store locations in a live retail environment
