Job Description
In this role, the candidate will support technical work product related to early development phase of electromechanical assemblies, through concept generation and CAD modelling. You will research, recommend, and implement or improve new and/or existing products, processes, materials, technologies, and equipment. This position will serve as a liaison and will coordinate development activities of internal and external resources.

Key Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Work is primarily focused on daily work priority requirements which involve detailed CAD modelling assignments including sketching, modelling, packaging and assembly studies, component travel studies and basic calculations.
  • Support definition of project scope, technical work and departmental efforts related to product, process, tooling, and materials as it relates to product design and development activities.
  • Translates direction of technical work into specific plans of action and supports development activities to design validation phase.
  • Supports selection, requirements, specification, initiation, and implementation of projects relating to new product application.
  • Serves as liaison and coordinates development activities of internal and external resources.
  • Serves as a resource by providing a problem-solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacle as they are encountered.
  • Engages in comparative and competitive analysis to ensure utilization of most appropriate and beneficial techniques in a situation respectively.
  • Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals.
Key Qualifications:
  • Technical Degree in mechanical design with understanding of project engineering practices, principles, processes, etc.
  • 5 yr experience minimum, automotive industry preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to calculate and analyze data, generate reports, and present information
  • Advanced CAD skills (Siemens NX preferred or Catia)
  • Experience with Team Center PLM software
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
