Job Description
This position provides support to the production floor SMT lines.  Acts as a technical resource for daily manufacturing execution by promptly responding to line machine requests from the Production team.  Responsible for programming and troubleshooting all pieces of equipment on the SMT line to ensure all customer requirements are met.
  • SMT line equipment programming and troubleshooting
  • SMT line equipment feeder/placement optimization
  • Assists in coordinating the introduction of new programs on the SMT line
  • Analyzes reports and data from the SMT equipment to determine if changes are needed
  • Identifies root cause, and systematically solves issues on equipment and end products, aiding engineers, technicians, and operators
  • Interfaces with engineering to incorporate changes and cost savings
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts
  • Provides on the job training to employees working in the SMT area
  • Continuous standing during daily support initiatives. Occasional lifting and moving of material and fixtures over 25 pounds and up to 60 pounds. Infrequent movement of equipment with casters in excess of 100 pounds
Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in an engineering equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two years SMT programming experience
  • 2 years of experience in printed circuit board assembly processes, methodologies, standards, and best practices
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions
  • Technical communication skills – must be able to communicate with engineering and production
  • Ability to work independently as well as with teammates
  • Ability to work with extremely small parts using a microscope and small hand tools
  • May require handling or exposure to chemicals used in the production area
  • Ability to obtain a US Government granted security clearance, if required
