Job Description
Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (RRB/ITC) is a dynamic hub for government, business, commerce and the community, in the heart of the nation’s capital. As the first and only federal building dedicated to both public and private use, the Reagan Building is the official World Trade Center Washington, DC, featuring a premier conference and events center, executive office space, attractions and exhibits, retail, dining, parking and public programming.  

Trade Center Management Associates (TCMA, A Drew Company), the exclusive manager of the RRB/ITC, is seeking a talented Event Planning Manager to join the Event Planning team.

The ideal Event Planning Manager will use your knowledge of current trends in event management and event design to work with our clients (from contract signing, event execution through client retention) to plan, execute and manage exceptional events. You will work on meetings, events, conferences, galas and social events for 50 - 3500 guests.

Essential Functions
As an Event Planning Manager you will help work within the client’s budget, timeline, and expectations to plan and manage events; collaborate and manage relationships with sales, vendors, clients and team members; create detailed BEOs outlining setup, food, beverage, A/V production, IT, security needs, and other miscellaneous items as required; review billing and post event analysis. 

Event management also include but not limited to conducting site visits, in-person and virtual client meetings, event tastings, being onsite for set-up, day-off and tear-down of event as required.

Given the current event restrictions, the Event Planning Manager will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of CDC protocols, current local, state, federal and Ronald Reagan Building guidelines and restrictions and design events that are Safer and Secure.

Event Planning Managers work collaboratively as part of the Sales & Event Planning Team as well as with other departments within our organization.  In addition to working with clients to plan, execute and implement their events, the Event Planning Manager will be required to work on special projects (as assigned) to support our organization.

Candidate’s Requirements
  • At least 5+ years of event planning or hospitality experience is required.  For consideration as an Event Planning Manager, a CMP is preferred. 
  • Hotel and/or venue experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of virtual events/virtual event certifications a plus.
  • Proficiency using a CRM system and diagramming software.
  • Knowledge of Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and WebEx is a plus
  • Excellent presentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven track-record of event planning.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to upsell, recommend and coordinate additional services and enhance food and beverage offerings 
  • Must be detailed orientated.
  • High level of enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and highly self-motivated.
  • Ability to work with all levels of individuals.
  • Must be adaptable, professional, courteous, motivated and work well on your own and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to handle a dynamic environment and challenging workload.
  • Knowledge of the DC Metro business community a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
