The Writer/Public Relations Specialist (WPRS) maintains, expands, and implements complex communications programs for OneLegacy and OneLegacy Foundation. The WPRS is responsible for researching and writing, editing and proofreading materials (creative, earned, owned and stakeholder pitches), and communications develop content creation, including press releases, fact sheets, website content and other press/media materials, and ensure and drive quality control. The WPRS will collaborate and work closely with our Media Relations Specialist on various stories and media strategies. The WPRS must be fluently bilingual in English/Spanish.
External Public Relations Activity:
1.Strategizes, pitches and places stories in general market and Latino print and broadcast media.
2. Serves as a liaison with PR and Communications agencies and works with OneLegacy's external agency to develop ongoing marketing campaigns, strategic communication plans, support events, public relations, and community relations.
3.Reads style guides or project briefs and utilizes them to develop content for radio, television, and print media. Places stories in non-clinical trade publications.
4. Drives and manages robust media and outreach campaigns and owns relationships with key reporters and stakeholder groups.
5.Serves as spokesperson for general market media as warranted.
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in business, marketing, or communications/PR.
Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in media or public relations required. Must have 3+ years' experience working with Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms. Full knowledge of local media outlets.
Proficient skills using the MS 2010 Suite software.
Certification & License: OneLegacy requires employees to maintain a current California driver's license and current vehicle insurance based on California minimum insurance coverage standards.
Equipment: Reliable automotive transportation required.
