What you will be responsible for:

The Security Generalist is a critical resource on the Global Security team responsible for the coordination, documentation, and execution of related security practices to maintain the security posture at MFS. This individual has familiarity with various access control and CCTV systems and an interest in security. The Security Generalist is an active participant and contributor in day-to-day security department activities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs routine security work, under supervision, for the implementation and administration of departmental processes and procedures.
  • Has a working knowledge of the access control systems, and is familiar with security related applications.
  • Assists with the timely processing of new full-time employees, terminating employees, contract employees, and temporary employees regarding physical and logical access requirements.
  • Monitors and reviews alarms on the access control systems, reviews close-circuit television (CCTV) systems and reports any issues to senior security staff members.
  • Follows all departmental procedures and controls and assists with any internal or external reviews or audits.
  • Conducts weekly safety and security walkthrough of 111 Huntington and 1 Summer Street locations.
  • Respond, immediately, to any report of a medical emergency and provide assistance as necessary.
  • Interact with building security to insure the prompt arrival, escort, and departure of EMS responders.
  • Responds to any reports of an engineering/building related problem or emergency.
  • Notifies the engineering staff of any information regarding the situation and lends assistance as needed
  • Provides security coverage at various internal functions, meetings, etc. that require a security presence. These events frequently occur during non-business hours. Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree or work related equivalent experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as circumstances warrant.
  • May be required to work at off hours such as nights and weekends to prevent interruption to daily facility operations.
  • Willingness to learn CPR/AED and administer CPR/AED if necessary.
  • Work hours are 9AM until 5PM and may require off-hours work
