Nature of Work
The Quality Intern's primary responsibility is to assist in the administration and maintenance of the document control process; to monitor, verify and report on product configurations; to ensure manufacturing processes meet company and customer requirements; and to assist in the quality management functions for TAPCO. This position will take personal responsibility for document administration, the nonconformance & corrective action process, and acting as the voice of the customer. The person will be a highly detail-oriented individual with working knowledge of quality assurance principles. The Quality Intern will creatively assist in procedures which are focused on improving quality in a low volume, high mix of intelligent traffic control devices and supporting products. With a sense of urgency, this person plays a key role in ensuring the quality team meets business, schedule and budget objectives.
This position reports to the Quality Manager and actively communicates with the team. All team members actively engage in healthy dialogue which results in the relentless pursuit of improvement. All members of the TAPCO team put safety fist and care about those surrounding them and aren't fearful of learning from their mistakes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; however, at times the workload may not require full time or may require overtime Monday through Saturday. Some flexibility of scheduling may be necessary in order to accommodate customer's needs.
