Position Description Summary:
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) is seeking a full-time faculty member with a focus on adult cardiac surgery, specifically surgery for heart failure and mechanical assist devices, in the Division of Cardiac Surgery in the Department of Surgery. The MFA is an independent, non-profit clinical practice group affiliated with George Washington University. This non-tenure track appointment will be made at a rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) commensurate with experience.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include performing cardiothoracic procedures, teaching residents and medical students, and developing an active research program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in cardiac surgery at the time of appointment with certification within three years of hire. Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in teaching as evidenced by teaching evaluations, in research as evidenced by scholarly publications or works in progress, and excellence in clinical care as evidenced by experience, fellowships, and references. Applicants must also be eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland. Minimum experience of three to five years beyond residency/fellowship is required.
