What you will be responsible for:Basic Purpose:

Using strong investment and operational knowledge, the Portfolio Specialist team seeks to provide superior support to the investment teams and performs a specialized set of duties related to the portfolio management and order entry process. In the role of Portfolio Specialist - Fixed Income, the team member will work closely with our Fixed Income investment teams on trade implementation, cash management, account transitions, portfolio monitoring and additional portfolio implementation related services. The position will be based in Boston.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Align to one or more fixed income asset classes, working closely with the trading team, to provide tailored investment operations support to the portfolio management team.

  • Manage the pre-trade workflow, including creating and modifying orders in the trading systems, navigating compliance reviews, and contributing to error checking.

  • Acting with instructions, assist portfolio managers in order sizing, duration and hedge calculations, and other support functions related to portfolio construction and order entry.

  • Work in partnership with portfolio managers, analysts and traders to monitor holdings and to ensure accurate implementation of investment opportunities.

  • Collaborate with departments/teams across the firm, including global investment support, compliance and others to assist with and drive process improvements for new account setup, account transitions and security setup.

  • Deepen understanding and streamline processing of client guidelines, investment management constraints, compliance constraints, client flows and quantitative factors that may be helpful to portfolio construction.

  • Represent the portfolio management team on investment technology and investment operations project teams to improve workflow and technology efficiency.

  • Develop a solid understanding of the investment strategies, trading patterns and styles and portfolio workflows for the designated investment teams in order to enable excellent and tailored support to the portfolio management team, and to best support the principal responsibilities herein described.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a major in finance, economics, computer science or quantitative subject preferred.

  • 5-7 years of industry experience, with preferably 3 or more years of related experience in fixed income

  • Significant knowledge of fixed income securities across multiple sectors including emerging market debt, investment grade, high yield, and derivatives securities.

  • Established ability to efficiently utilize resources and communicate with others both verbally and in writing.

  • Proven analytical skills and ability to develop creative solutions to meet business needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform job responsibilities in collaboration with others and independently and effectively in a demanding environment.

  • Strict attention to detail and accuracy required.
