Position Overview:

The Estimator is responsible for preparing project budgeting based on a number of duties including but not limited to drawing takeoffs, obtaining supplier pricing, and previous cost data. Estimators also provide as-needed support to the Chief Estimator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Prepare detailed take offs of materials
      • Prepare detailed labor estimates utilizing Conest software, incorporating labor-hours, materials and equipment
      • Obtain material and equipment pricing from suppliers
      • Follow up with suppliers regarding bidding and maintaining up to date supplier lists
      • Adheres to MEC's Compliance and Equal Opportunity Program requirements, participates in all assigned trainings

Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field or equivalent work experience
      • Previous experience in Estimating, or relevant construction/engineering industry experience
      • Working knowledge of Excel spread sheets, and Word processing programs.
      • Ability to read & interpret blueprints in order to understand the scope of work
