Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for a Material Controller at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania or our office in Houston, Texas. This position will focus on mechanical and piping materials.

We are seeking a Material Controller to join the Americas Engineering team to support the design and construction of industrial gas plants for both Air Products owned and sale of equipment facilities. You will support the requisitioning of equipment, steel, inline items and other hard goods. You will also report out on the overall status of materials from requisitioning through receiving on site.

Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with Project, Engineering and Procurement managers on project Material Control Plans
  • Import Bill of Materials into Smart Materials
  • Create and issue Requisitions from the Bill of Materials
  • Provide timely material requisition status reports to Project Engineering Managers
  • Occasionally travel internationally to support Air Products' global engineering approach
Minimum Requirements:
  • 10 plus years of experience in material control and requisitioning for large capital projects, industrial gases or petrochemical projects preferred
  • Proven experience with Smart Materials
  • Familiarity with static equipment, rotating equipment, valves, and piping materials.
  • Strong knowledge of with Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) work processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to other Air Products or EPC offices. Travel may be up to 10%
