Hiring full-time Nurse Aide / CNA (certification not required) within a convent home environment in Chicago (60659 area)

We have a great unlicensed, convent home care environment for a Caregiver/Nurse Aide/CNA who is looking for resident-focused, quality care. Come work alongside a committed team of caregivers, giving back to those who have given their lives working in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs assigned duties under the direction of the licensed Nurse.
  • Performs specific technical procedures in accordance with standards of practice.
  • Provides general care to residents including bathing, dressing and personal hygiene.
  • Makes beds and organizes resident's room.
  • Assists residents to and from the restroom and provides assistance as necessary.
  • Provides assistance to residents while dining to ensure proper nourishment.
  • Documents necessary information reflecting resident care.
  • Performs resident transfers with assistive devices within proper guidelines and scope of practice.
  • Prepares residents for appointments and assists in scheduling transportation as needed.
  • Assists with health care services such as: admitting, transferring, discharging residents; taking temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weights and measurements, measuring and recording intake and output; collecting specimens such as urine or stool.
  • Observes residents for physical and psychosocial needs, attitudes, reactions and appetite changes.
  • Exhibits behavior that supports a person-centered culture of care where resident has a voice and a share in decision making regarding plan of care.

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current or lapsed Certified Nurse Aide certification preferred but not required.
  • Long-term resident care or home care experience preferred.
