Job Description
Summary Statement: Applies advanced technical skills and knowledge related to the overhaul and repair of parts, components and complete subsystems for operational aircraft applications. Performs any of the detailed work operations required to be completed in these areas.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities: Performs tasks that are moderate to complex requiring experience and judgment to complete. Performs disassembly, overhaul and repair of parts, components and subsystems for in-service aircraft applications of products and processes. Reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Reads and interprets planning, blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of removal, repair, replacement and installation of parts and components of mechanical aircraft subsystems. Disassembles and inspects parts for wear, warping, or other defects. Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft operational mechanical systems, components and structures including rigging, plumbing and electrical wiring harnesses. Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories. Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop or back drill hole patterns for access doors, installation or replacement of sheet metal parts or other like applications. Trims to fit, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smoothes surfaces. Bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products. Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints. Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.

Ancillary Job Functions and Responsibilities: Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal Education, Training and Work Experience: No formal education required. Four (4) or more years' work experience in aircraft structural assembly and/or repair environment. Must be able to use / operate small hand tools and machinery.

Stakeholder Behavioral Standards: All Stakeholders: Integrity, Teamwork, Communications, Customer Focus, Initiative and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders. Level of Supervision Required: Works with regular supervision. Follows standard written or oral instructions. May need additional assistance for more complex tasks.

Special Job Requirements, Licenses or Certifications: *Must be able to read and write the English language and learn to interpret and comprehend companypolicies, procedures, safety instructions, work instructions, engineering specifications, Material Safety Data Sheets, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment. *Demonstrate competency in applying the following in performing normal job duties. *Read and interpret manufacturer's specifications and overhaul manuals. *Read and comprehend engineering drawings and technical work instructions. *Read and comprehend technical manuals issued by OEMs and customers. *Develop and fabricate shop aids to perform specialized operations. *Demonstrate competency in the use of standard assembler and mechanics hand tools, suchas drill motors, rivet guns, bucking bars, die grinders, rivet squeeze, layout scales, scribes,center punches, templates, precision measuring instruments, voltmeters, ohmmeters andother like tools, cranes, hoists, work platforms, tooling jigs and fixtures.

Special Training: *Safety training as required by OSHA.


Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
