Job Description

Shift times are either 12:30pm-9pm or 1pm-9:30pm. Shifts could be spread out over a two week pay period or it could be 7 days on 7 days off.

*1.0 FTE is Full-Time, any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time, and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time*

*Positions with an "FTE" (full time equivalency) of .8 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical, dental and vision benefits. Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical, dental and vision benefits*

Summary:

Performs a variety of routine and special procedures in the Laboratory.

Medical Lab Technician Responsibilities:

Associates of Science degree with major in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related science is required. Must be certified as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Registry or be eligible for certification. If eligible, must obtain certification within one year of hire. Eighteen-week internship in accredited clinical laboratory required. Minimum of three years of experience in a hospital laboratory setting required. Consistently demonstrates a high degree of proficiency in all MLT-I duties exemplified by above standard performance in two previous annual performance appraisals. Compliance with all federal regulations as outlined by CLIA, National Health Insurance regulations, etc. required.

Medical Technologist Responsibilities:

Bachelor of Science degree with major in Medical Technology or a related science is required. Must be certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Registry or be eligible for certification. If eligible, must obtain certification within one year of hire. May accept HEW certification instead. Medical technology internship in accredited clinical laboratory required. Compliance with all Federal regulations as outlined by CLIA, National Health Insurance regulations, etc. required.
