Job summary
Alexa B2B and Developer marketing is looking for a Copywriter to help us elevate our use of written and spoken language across events, marketing, and developer experiences, including articles, blog posts, social media, pitch decks, e-mail, video, and how-to content. The Copywriter will shepherd the voice and tone for our English-language experience touchpoints through creating content. You will be an advocate for the power of language and the Alexa brand's use of it to reach developers and business leaders.

The Copywriter should have deep knowledge and practical experience in copywriting, providing leadership from concept to final asset creation. As well, the Copywriter should be comfortable writing for highly-technical audiences focused on ambient intelligence. Since you will be dealing with many stakeholders and applying the literal tone of our brand, you should possess excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Position may be located in Seattle, WA, or near any Alexa U.S. Corp office.


Key job responsibilities
* Applying a clear, differentiated, and concise voice and tone for Alexa across experiences.
* Delivery - leading in partnership with design, content, and editorial stakeholders from briefing and initial concept, completing copy variations and decks on time that also consistently and continually raise the standard of our written tone.
* Working with Stakeholders (Marketers, Executives, Event Managers, Social Team Members, Video Producers, and beyond) to understand their needs, then developing concepts and copy variations within the voice and tone that need to be represented.
* Working with Alexa partner teams across Devices & Services to understand their inputs and goals and working to incorporate those needs into the final product of all work.
* Writing practice - executing on a high volume of content needs, and improving our approach with each output.


About the team
The team is fun, driven, and holds a high bar for developer and business leader facing experiences. We have a great mix of tenured and new-to-Amazon marketers, giving us a highly trusted stakeholder role within the various product teams building third party Alexa experiences. We are building a marketing engine around content development and work across Alexa businesses and our internal marketing teams (Developer Education, Demand Generation, Alexa Global Events, Product Marketing, and Marketing Ops & Tech) to bring content to life.
* 3-5 years experience as a Copy Writer, or similar role
* Experience leading copy standards and examples for a high volume of conceptual and production work
* Passion for creating scalable processes that elevate the strategic impact of language and writing
* Excellent project management, communication and organizational skills

* Passion for copy writing, language, user experience, creative direction, and editorial design
* Experience in writing for consumer products
* Experience in writing for a technical audience
* Experience in scriptwriting for voice
* Degree in Creative Writing, Advertising (Writing,) Linguistics, Journalism, Communications, Library Science, Scriptwriting, English Literature, or related field, preferred
* Deep passion for and experience with ambient intelligence, voice services, or devices
