Senior Manager, Production Test Engineering

Who We Are Looking for:

We are actively seeking a talented and experienced Senior Production Test Engineering Manager who will work from design through implementation of test systems that will be utilized in our products' manufacturing centers. You will have the chance to network with cross functional team, vendors, internal & external customers, and in-house personnel as well as form a dream team of experts for each project to maximize resources and efficiency to lead the design and development of automated end of line testing projects. This is an opportunity to utilize the skills and experiences you've had as a leader and collaborator. This role to oversee a wide variety of automation, and automated end of line tester projects from conceptual design through implementation. This role to Lead the overall tester development process, provide timeline, coordinate development activities with various teams, including product development, manufacturing, marketing, quality, external collaborators, etc. If you share our passion for creating value, if you are entrepreneurial and customer focused, we would like you to join our team.

You will lead cross functional development team that design our automated manufacture line and the processes by which they are built. You will drive to achieve the technical, schedule, and budget objectives of every automation project. The members of your teams will include engineers from many disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, etc.). You will also collaborate closely with our manufacturing partners in North America, Europe, and Asia, to deliver solutions to our diverse international automotive OEM and Tiers, as well as emerging automotive customers.

  • Supervise the development of technique cards, coordinates, and monitors the work of a staff of technical project managers and subject matter experts.
  • Establish and implement team strategies, programs, and practices to achieve world class testing process
  • Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined the standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Lead to maintain, or create, and supervise a group of global team, that can perform in a team environment while personal accountability and individual growth is encouraged Collaborate with BU cross functional team, global plants, and customers to design and develop manufacturing process
  • Streamlining and enhancing our capabilities of SW development for product validation and production testing,
  • Leading efforts to raise our competence in PCBA and end of line production testing
  • Leading the test efforts alongside product development groups for our newest and fast-growing product segments

  • People who can:
  • Lead and supervise team to ensure the design and development of automated production test systems for high-speed interconnect products, media modules, gateway switch and lighting products, are all meeting the expected requirements,
  • Work with suppliers and external collaborators in design and development new test systems,
  • Work and manage implementation of current production tester projects that are in-process.
  • Look for opportunities to raise capabilities & improve designs/yields through further meaningful test automation, data gathering, and real time data analysis,
  • Responsibilities for CMS Engineering Validation labs in multiple locations. Assess needs and capabilities for each,
  • Look for areas of inefficiencies (e.g., lack of automated data collection automation),
  • Seek feedback from PD leads and teams to create EV lab POV,
  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Ability to use and develop KPIs that track project progress, production line performance and drive improvements.
  • Work with appropriate business teams to develop overall equipment capex budget for production test engineering team.


What You Will Need:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Control or Computer engineering,
  • 10 (or 7 - with a master's degree) years of experience in leading large technical projects with multi-disciplinary design content (FW/SW/HW/Mechanical)
  • Minimum 5+ year experience in leading production test engineering role.
  • Minimum 5+ Years of experience supervisory or leadership
  • Knowledgeable in six sigma, statistical and data analysis, quality management systems, design of 2experiments, cost structure, and financial concepts,
  • Capable of establishing long term work relationship, credibility, mutual respect, and managerial authority within the functional groups
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are critical to success.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%, including potential international travel.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing managers is preferred
  • MS/MBA is preferred.
  • CAPM or PMP certification are highly preferred, or intention to obtain one in near future.
  • Experienced in vendor management.
  • Automotive or tiers experiences are preferred.
  • Experience in developing SW in at least one of the following programming languages C#, C/C++, VB, Python, and LabVIEW
  • Experience with RF/microwave test and measurement equipment such as multiport-port, network analyzers, and bit error rate testers, waveform generators, spectrum analyzers, digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules, etc.
  • Working experience and technical knowledge of s-parameters, RF/microwave transmission line theory including Fourier transform, characteristic impedance, eye diagrams, time-domain analysis, cross talk, bit error rate testing, jitter analysis, etc. of connectors, cable assemblies, or high speed printed circuit boards,
  • Experience with RF/microwave test and measurement equipment such as digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules, multi-port network analyzers, and bit error rate testers,
