As an Engineering System Administrator based in Morgan Hill, CA we are looking for a candidate with a passion for working with our engineering teams. These are teams of hardware and software engineers who love what they do and need tools and systems to help them get their jobs done. They want a partner they can count on to help identify and implement solutions. We are looking for someone who will understand their processes and look for creative ways to help them accomplish their goals. Of course, they will need someone who will help keep their systems running because they need them to get new products to our customers! This is the perfect opportunity for the right Entry Level Candidate who is looking towards a career as a System Administrator.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Server Maintenance
  • Administration of Software Platforms
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the rest of the IS&T Team for the Engineering Teams
  • Work with the Service Desk Team to ensure Tier 1 support is knowledgeable in supported areas
  • This position will be reporting to the Service Desk Manager based in Morgan Hill, CA

Requirements:

  • BS degree in IT/IS/CSE or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years Windows and/or Unix system administration experience; understanding and working knowledge of layered products and software development cycles
  • Excellent project management, communications, customer service and teamwork skills, including the ability to document systems, change management and business requirements
  • Ability to be on call and to respond to emergency issues during off hours
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site locations to install equipment
  • Ability to lift 40lb
  • Experience with the following tools and technologies: VMWare, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, TestRail, Windows server, Linux, (Ubuntu preferably) SolidWorks, Scripting (Bash, Python, Groovy), Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and operations management tools. Understanding of SDLC and experience with CI pipelines.
  • Knowledge of the following platforms is a plus: MS SQL, SolidWorks, Siemens PADS Suite/Designer
