Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations)

Overview

The Human Resources Specialist (ER) will provide support with day-to-day generalist duties, associated with employee relations and workplace solutions. Duties include, but not limited to, participating and at times, leading employee relations matters and administering a variety of HR compliance items. The incumbent will also partner closely with members of all levels of the HR team, internal customers, and communicate with external business partners on behalf of the Company.

Responsibilities
    Conduct HR investigations regarding workplace issues to include but not limited to employee complaints, discrimination, performance, and harassment
  • Assist in root cause analysis to identify need for policy change, development, interpretation, and precedent setting resolution
  • Partner with Learning & Development in proactively identifying training and education for all levels to improve the overall employee experience
  • Assists in coaching and guiding employees with regards to company policies and employee relations matters
  • Support Director ER in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans, counseling, investigations, documentation, and recommendations for resolution
  • Assist with regular, routine HR compliance items, such as Affirmative Action administration, EEO-1 Reporting and distribution of compliance posters to our US locations.
  • Support the Director ER with all audit requests
  • Engage in the interactive process with employees requesting a workplace accommodation under the ADA
  • Work with the Director ER to implement and support streamlined, scalable and efficient HR Compliance programs and processes
  • Leads meetings, facilitates communications and documents solutions or outcomes
  • Assist Senior ER manager with special HR projects, as needed
  • Process background checks for internal promotions in line with the Company's policies
  • Assist in maintaining proper documents in employee files
  • Provide support in reviewing adverse background checks
  • Helps to build and implement best practice tools, processes and policies and sharing across the HR team
  • Assist the Company's Internal Audit Team as well as PwC by providing supporting documentation in line with the latest SOX narrative control(s) for new hire and termination testing.
Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • Three or more years of experience in Human Resources, customer service or administrative support
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert level of proficiency with use of computers to include MS Office suite, Adobe, and
  • Experience with successful fact-finding investigations and managing complaints
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain a positive, professional relationship while striving to strengthen a culture of inclusion

Skills Required

  • Must be detail oriented, possess a high level of organization, commitment to excellence, and be able to manage time and priorities efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to interact in an unbiased professional manner with culturally diverse populations
  • Must possess sound judgement, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must be flexible and amenable to occasional non-traditional office hours
  • Ability to compose synthesized notes/reports of all investigations in a timely fashion
  • Minimal travel required on occasion (<10%)

Preferred

  • Experience with ADP EV5, Org Chart software(s), iCIMS, Kronos, a plus
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a member of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and quickly adapt to shifting priorities
  • Must possess integrity, honesty and strong work ethic
  • Advanced conflict resolution experience, facilitating and influencing skills
  • Proficiency in the English language (Written/Verbal) is a must
