We have a unique career opportunity for a Project Engineer I with our Civil, Roadway team. This position offers the opportunity to sit out of our Milwaukee, Madison, or Oshkosh WI Office. The ideal candidate has experience with civil transportation design and comprehensive knowledge of roadway projects and developing plans in accordance with WisDOT standards.

• Serve as the highway lead on transportation projects
• Create and execute project work plans
• Manage project teams, accountable for budget and schedule
• Mentor junior staff
• Contribute to WI Division strategic growth initiatives
• Champion relationships with key clients, including the Wisconsin DOT
• Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events
• Ability to identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits
• Collaborate on regional growth strategy

• A minimum of 4 years of diverse and progressive civil transportation design experience for WisDOT
• Licensed PE in the state of WI or planning to obtain licensure within one year
• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience working with public agencies, private entities and/or municipalities
• Civil3d experience a plus
• Progressive experience with developing plans specifications, and submissions per WisDOT standards and requirements
• Excellent communication and client relation skills
• Strong organization skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
• Positive experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders
• Accustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects
• Advanced use of CADD and assure compliance with project CADD standards
• Ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner #LI-MM1
