WHAT TO EXPECT

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our downtown Salem office, we are seeking a Strategic Marketing Manager to join our Gates TPU team. As Gates looks into the future, we have identified this as a crucial role that will drive the next phase of our company's growth.

  • You will work within Gates TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) belting business unit, which produces industrial timing belts for positioning and conveyance applications.
  • You will report directly to the General Manager for Gates TPU with responsibility for all Gates TPU-related marketing efforts globally.
  • In this role, you will work closely with all commercial leaders in the Gates TPU business unit, especially the Gates TPU Global Product Line Manager, to coordinate product line efforts in North America as well as the Gates TPU Regional Sales Managers to coordinate marketing efforts in their respective regions (North America and Europe).

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute global marketing strategy for Gates TPU and support strategic planning and tactical management to achieve TPU financial and operating objectives
  • Lead all Gates TPU-related marketing activities globally, including leading all Gates TPU-driven marketing efforts and campaigns and coordinating activity and input for all TPU-related components of Gates PT-driven marketing, as well as leverage Gates global marketing resources
  • Drive the NPD process for the TPU product line in North America and support the Gates TPU Global Product Line Manager in the North American launch of all global TPU products to achieve desired sales results
  • Support the Gates TPU Global Product Line Manager in all marketing aspects of the new product launch process and commercialization
  • Conduct internal and external marketing activities and campaigns to build awareness of and support sales of all TPU products
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, gain insight, and inform strategic decision making and product line development efforts
  • Coordinate logistics for all trade shows, conferences, and marketing events
  • Maintain point of contact and lead generation research capability for Gates TPU
  • Review and update Gates TPU web presence through Gates IT team as needed to reflect new products, support marketing campaigns, and optimize website traffic
  • Liaise with Gates CRM managers to connect marketing campaigns with pipeline opportunities
  • Conduct voice of the customer (VOC) interviews and feed customer desires into internal organization through customer visits, industry association participation, and competitive research
  • Maintain current knowledge and expertise of industry trends and market needs to inform product engineering technologies, new product designs, competitor capabilities and practices, market conditions, and market channels
  • Continually analyze and interpret customer questions, requirements, or problems for growth opportunities

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering Management from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum of 8+ years of marketing, and/or sales management or business development experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 25% travel is allotted for this role
  • Excited to work in the office with great teammates
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Full-Time
  • Salary: $125,000 - $145,000
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
