Overview

Merrick & Company is seeking a high school, technical school or community college Drafting and Design student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2022 in our Greenwood Village, CO headquarters. Imagine working on rewarding client projects and being exposed to unparalleled training and development opportunities! The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2022.

Job Description

The Merrick Intern Program will provide an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of mechanical equipment design. The intern will be exposed to a variety of mechanical design items potentially including: detailed machine design, 3D modeling in CREO and creation of drawings in CREO. Typical equipment includes containment systems (gloveboxes, hot cells, cleanrooms), material handling equipment, small scall process piping & equipment, furnace systems, metal working systems (mills, lathes, rolling machines) and pressure vessels.

The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, the ability to work independently and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality. Students who have recently graduated will not be considered.

Required Experience

  • Experience with solid modeling software is strongly preferred. CREO, Solidworks, Inventor, Revit, CADworx or other 3D modeling packages.
  • Must be currently enrolled in high school, and Associate Degree program, or pursuing a Technical College Certification.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Hands on experience with machine tools, fabrications methods or construction a plus.
  • Local candidates preferred.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
  • Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without getting distracted.
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.

  • Typical pay range for this position is $18.00-$20.00 per hour.The pay range listed in this posting indicates the position's eligibility to work in the state of Colorado and is consistent with our offices there; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
