Brakebush Brothers, Inc. is seeking a Food Safety/Quality Assurance Intern in Mocksville!

Brakebush started in 1925 with two brothers and one truck providing sugar and eggs delivery in central Wisconsin. The business grew to meet market needs, along with our reputation. Today, we make over 200 great-tasting products for national, food service, and industrial accounts through high-capacity production. We are proud to be U.S. family-owned and operated, currently running six facilities in four states and a nation-wide Salesforce.  

MOCKSVILLE, NC is home to our newest, state-of-the-art facility. This small town is the heart of North Carolina. Surrounded by vineyards, green spaces, and outdoor recreation, it serves as a great base to explore Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and the Appalachian Mountains. Our NC plant is a value-added, further processing facility where we develop and prepare delicious chicken.
 
YOUR QA INTERNSHIP involves several key functions:    
  • Contributing to food safety initiatives; involves learning about food safety related to poultry production in a par fry & fully cooked facility using the Brakebush Mocksville HACCP plan as a base.
  • Contributing to Food Safety and Quality Assurance projects.
  • Aid in preparing the plant for audits; including SQF & various customer audits.

WHO YOU ARE:  
  • You are currently pursuing an advanced degree in poultry science, animal science, food science or related field
  • Key base knowledge needed of food safety requirements for poultry production. Ex. HACCP
  • Key technical skill(s) needed: Comfortable using Office 365/Office suite software (Word, Excel)
  • Key human skills needed: communication, self-motivated, curious, detail-oriented

This is a paid internship at $18.00/hour.

Most internships run 12-14 weeks from mid-May through August. We are flexible with most personal summer plans. Hiring managers will discuss intern duration and summer schedules with candidates.
